The existing volumes of this two-story harbourside apartment were stripped bare, allowing for a complete reinvention of the spaces, and the introduction of understated luxury throughout to compliment the iconic Sydney vista.

Effectively a meditation on curve, tone and texture, the soft sculptural shapes of the built elements, such as the curve of the new fireplace, are complemented by the soft curves of the furnishings. Arent & Pyke chose design and decorative elements that would explore the beauty of surface and texture. The textural variations in the kitchen splash-back, the travertine plinth, and beautiful parquetry flooring each deliver a subtle richness to the whole, as does the Minotti rug. Texture and pattern have also allowed a sense of play, with textiles, wallpapers, tiles and the figuring of natural stone all in concert.
